01 Who We Are
Proper Plumbing GTA is a plumbing contractor and lead broker based in the Greater Toronto Area. We run the marketing, answer the phones, and do the intake work so you don't have to.
We are not a plumbing company that competes with you for work. We do not send our own plumbers. Our entire model is built around connecting qualified homeowners with skilled, independent plumbers โ that's you. We make money by charging a flat lead fee when you claim a job. That's it.
Think of us as your virtual front desk and marketing team. We handle the advertising, the inbound calls, and the qualification process. You focus on the work.
02 How We Source and Qualify Leads
When a homeowner in the GTA has a plumbing problem, they find us through our website or ads. They contact us and we do a full intake interview before anything gets posted.
Here is what we confirm from every customer before a lead goes live:
- โThey agree to a dispatch and diagnostic fee โ so they are committed, not just browsing.
- โTheir full name.
- โTheir exact address and location in the GTA.
- โWhat the plumbing issue is.
- โWhen they want service (urgency level / preferred time).
Only after all of this is confirmed do we upload the lead to the board and notify the network. You will never see a lead where the customer hasn't already agreed to pay a dispatch and diagnostic fee. They are expecting someone to show up.
03 How You Get Notified
Once a lead is live, we send a mass text to all plumbers in the network with the general job details โ the area of the GTA, the type of issue, and the lead price. We do not include the customer's personal details in this blast. That information only goes to the plumber who claims the job.
Being in the network is completely free. You will receive these notifications at no cost. There is no monthly fee, no registration fee, and no commitment. You only pay if you decide you want to claim a specific job.
There is no financial downside to being in the network.
If a job comes in and you're not interested or already busy โ just ignore the text. No penalties, no pressure. You only pay when you actively want work.
04 Claiming a Lead โ First Come, First Served
Every lead is 100% exclusive. The first plumber to claim it gets it. Once it's claimed, no other plumber in the network receives the customer's contact details.
To claim a lead, you go to this portal, find the job, and proceed to checkout. Payment is collected at that point โ before the customer details are released to you.
05 How Payment Works
Payment is processed through Stripe, a trusted third-party payment platform used by some of the biggest companies in the world. We do not store your card details โ Stripe handles all of that securely.
Stripe accepts:
- โขCredit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex)
- โขDebit cards
- โขApple Pay
- โขGoogle Pay
Once your payment goes through, you will immediately receive a digital invoice with all of the customer's details: their name, phone number, and address. From that point, it is in your hands โ go there, introduce yourself, assess the job, give them an estimate, and try to close the work.
06 What Happens After You Claim a Lead
Once you have the customer's details, you contact them directly and head out to the job. The customer has already agreed to a dispatch and diagnostic fee, so they are expecting you and they know someone is coming.
From there, your job is to:
- Show up professionally and on time.
- Assess the problem and give them a clear estimate.
- Close the job and complete the work.
We introduce you, but the relationship with the customer is yours to build. How you handle yourself on the job determines whether they call you again directly and whether they recommend you to others.
07 If a Customer Refuses Work โ What to Do
We take our relationship with our plumbers seriously. The trust between us is the most important asset this business has. If something goes wrong that is not your fault, we will make it right.
If a customer refuses to proceed with any work after you arrive, collect the dispatch and diagnostic fee they agreed to when they booked. They committed to that fee upfront โ it exists precisely for this situation. You showed up, you assessed the job, your time has value. You should not leave empty-handed.
On top of that, we will also review the situation and reasonably refund your lead fee if the refusal was not your fault. Our relationship is built on trust โ we are not going to make you eat the cost of a difficult customer.
Examples that typically qualify for a lead fee refund:
- โข Customer refused all work upon arrival with no reasonable explanation.
- โข Address was incorrect or the customer was unreachable.
- โข Customer had already had the problem fixed before you arrived.
Contact us promptly when it happens, explain the situation, and we will handle it fairly. Our goal is a long-term network, not a one-time transaction.
08 We Are a Registered, Insured Ontario Company
Proper Plumbing GTA is a registered business in Ontario and we carry business insurance. We operate professionally and take our legal and financial obligations seriously.
Because of this, we require the same standard from every plumber in our network. To protect all parties โ the customer, you, and us โ all plumbers must be insured and qualified, and must submit the relevant information about their business through our portal before receiving leads.
What we require from network plumbers:
- โข Proof of valid liability insurance.
- โข Proof of qualification or licensing (e.g. licensed plumber, journeyman, or relevant certification).
- โข Business name and contact details on file.
This is not meant to be a burden โ it is standard practice for any professional contractor working with clients. It protects you as much as it protects us and the customers we send you to.
09 Leaving the Network
If for any reason you want to stop receiving lead notifications and leave the network, just let us know. Text us at 647-206-3327 and we will remove you. No questions, no hard feelings.

11 Where We Are Headed โ Bigger Contracts for You
Right now we primarily serve residential homeowners across the GTA. We are good at it, but we recognize that residential clients can sometimes be unpredictable โ they can be picky, they sometimes get multiple quotes, and the jobs tend to be smaller.
That is why we are actively working to land larger, higher-value contracts that we will subcontract directly to plumbers in our network. These include:

Multi-residential buildings, commercial properties, and office complexes with ongoing maintenance needs.
Real Estate Agents
Pre-sale inspections, quick fixes before listing, and urgent repairs for deal closings.
Institutions
Retirement homes, university buildings, and large facilities that need reliable, consistent plumbing contractors.
These clients pay more, have repeat needs, and are far less likely to refuse work on the spot. As we secure these contracts, plumbers in our network will have first access to them. The more reliable you have been with our residential leads, the better positioned you will be when the bigger work comes in.
